SUPPORT BREAKAWAY

UW Tacoma Alternative Breakaway is a student lead program offering any student a week long volunteer opportunity to take a meaningful break from school to serve with others.   Students will graciously donate to their break to make a difference in our communities and nonprofits while working toward their personal and professional growth.  We aim to keep BreakAway accessible, regardless of students’ ability to pay.  In order to keep costs down for student volunteers we need your help!  All funds raised go directly to the Breakaway Fund to cover travel, lodging, food and training expenses for participants.

What’s up, Tacoma?! This upcoming spring break I am going to be participating in the week long BreakAway trip to Buford Park & Mount Pisgah in Eugene, Oregon! I will be serving as a site lead along with my fellow students to protect and enhance native ecosystems and recreation in the Mount Pisgah area. This is a remarkable opportunity to get involved in a hands on project that aligns with my educational goals as well as promotes environmental stewardship!

As a participant in BreakAway we are committing to gaining a better understanding of ourselves  and our responsibility to serve the community through volunteering. I am so grateful that I have the chance to participate this year, but we could not do it without you! You can make a difference by clicking the link to the right to show your support for this years trip.

Thank you for your generosity!

Lex,

UWT student
