New Hire Info

When hiring new permanent staff, please print out the appropriate forms under your employee classification. Upon completion, submit to UW Tacoma Payroll Department, Box 358431. Remember to include copies of employee identification (options are listed on the back of the I-9 form) in the employee new hire packet. The employee will be entered in payroll once HR has approved the hire. 

If hourly staff is hired, please print out the appropriate forms for Hourly Staff.  Upon completion of these forms, submit to UW Tacoma HR for approval. UW Tacoma HR will submit the approved hire packet to payroll for entry in payroll. 

If hiring a faculty member, print the appropriate forms and include the additional documents listed on the cover sheet. The completed packet, including I-9 information, must first go to the Chancellor's Office for approval before submission to UW Tacoma Payroll.

It can take up to two business days for the new employee to be entered in payroll once payroll receives the complete hire packet.  IMPORTANT NOTE: Foreign national hires, if receiving pay, must have a social security card.  If they do not have one, please have them go to the nearest Social Security Administration Office to apply for one. A copy of the SS Card must be included with all other payroll forms.
