Orientation

Welcome

Welcome, new international students!

There are two orientations that you must complete:

General school orientation and academic advising (required before you can register for classes)

Before you can register for classes, you  need to pay your Enrollment Confirmation Fee and send in your completed Measles Immunity Verification form. If your measles records are in another language, be sure to send in a translation as well. Please email uwtiss@uw.edu with any questions.

General orientation for fall 2012 students

Sign up for the general school orientation if you are going to be in the U.S. this summer. The first freshman orientation is June 21 and the first transfer orientation is June 19. Sign-up will be on-line May 15, 2012. You will be able to register for your fall quarter classes at orientation if you have turned in your enrollment confirmation fee and immunization form already.

If you are not in the area this summer and will not be able to attend an in-person general orientation, please contact uwtiss@uw.edu to let us know and we will make alternate arrangements.

International student orientation (mandatory for all F-1 international students)

Fall 2012

We will have mandatory two-day international student orientation on Thursday, September 20 and Friday, September 21. The first day of fall quarter classes is Monday, September 24.

Since on-campus housing does not normally open until September 21, international students living in on-campus housing can make arrangements to move in early, on Wednesday, September 19 after 3 pm. You will need to pay an extra $30 per day for Wednesday and Thursday nights in order to move in early. Please contact Jen Magofna at jmagofna@u.washington.edu to arrange early move-in.
