Declaring a Minor
A minor is an optional program of study (usually 25 to 35 credits) built around a particular subject or skill, for example, Human Rights or Nonprofit Management.
Minors can be helpful in two ways: You can focus your degree by choosing a minor related to your major or you can broaden your degree by choosing an unrelated minor. Minors are reflected on UW transcripts. All minors must be completed with a 2.0 minor GPA.
You must be declared in a major and have completed at least 45 credits before adding a minor. Please fill out the Request to Declare or Change a Major and Add or Drop a Minor form and take the completed form to the Office of the Registrar. The form requires a student signature but does not need an adviser's signature.
If you have any questions about the form or the process, please phone 253.692.4857 or stop by Joy 214 to speak with one of the AAC PAAWS.
