Welcome to the Blackboard support site.  This site was designed to cater to the support needs of students and instructors related to the UW Tacoma Blackboard course management system.  If this site leaves you with further questions, please feel free to contact Academic Technologies at athelp@uw.edu

Students

If you are a student at UW Tacoma and need help getting started with Blackboard, visit the First Steps - Start Here link under the Student Support section. You will learn how to:

  • Create your Blackboard account
  • Enrolling in your Blackboard course

Tip: When searching for a course to enroll, use the "Browse Course Catalog" link and search for "ID" "Contains" and then enter the number in your course id (i. e. 450, 350 etc) or search for "Instructor" "Contains" and then enter your instructors last name. Once you find you course, click on the double arrow dropdown next to the course title to find the enroll button.

  • Navigate your course site

Visit the Helpdesk in WG 108 if you need assistance, or call 692-4357!

Instructors

Instructors, visit the  Instructor Support section to learn about the new 9.1 features and how to use them effectively. First time instructors visit the New to Blackboard link to find out what you need to do to start using Blackboard for your courses.

Training opportunities (for faculty)

The key things you need to know:

  1. Take a look at the NEW 9.1 Features and imagine what they can do for your courses.
  2. Check out the "5 Essential Skills You Will Need to Build Your Course in Bb 9.1"

  3. Blackboard 9.1 training classes will be offered through Academic Technologies. One-on-one or small group appointments are available on request. Contact athelp@uw.edu if you would like to schedule an appointment.
