About the Corporate Citizenship Roundtable

The Milgard School of Business, Center for Leadership & Social Responsibility is developing a Corporate Citizenship Roundtable

to serve global businesses based in the Pacific Northwest. The Center will serve in a convening role to bring together professionals from the corporate community to explore topics related to social responsibility and citizenship practices in a setting that allows for greater understanding and improved performance. The Center will also serve to bring government, NGO’s, Not-for-Profits and others to the table as necessary to facilitate deeper understanding of issues and current topics of discussion.

This group will be membership based, by invitation of the Center. Benefits of membership in the roundtable will include:
  • A regional, NW centered gathering of peers in Corporate Citizenship
  • An exclusive group that brings together members with similar issues and at similar CSR stages so as to maximize investment of time and resources
  • A member community to advance thinking about CSR
    • On-line discussions, monitored by Center staff & faculty
    • Bi-annual moderated gatherings to address current CSR issues as determined by members
    • National and international experts joining the group to engage in discussion
    • A forum to discuss and explore emerging issues in CSR
  • A neutral convener to bring government and business together to address policy and social issues relevant to the membership
  • Internship connections with students
  • Research connections with faculty and student projects
  • Case studies on company-specific situations
  • Tailored Executive Education on CSR related topics and issues

Following in the tradition of Milgard Manufacturing and the Milgard family, the Corporate Citizenship Roundtable will be a quality program that adds value for its members in a unique way.

In that light, the Dean of the Milgard School of Business and the Director of the Center for Leadership & Social Responsibility have interviewed leaders of Pacific Northwest based companies to assist in the development of this resource.   We have surveyed 12 companies to determine the topics of discussion.  We are currently developing the resources to make the Corporate Citizenship Roundtable a valuable endeavor for these companies and the study of corporate social responsibility.
