Curriculum Enhancement Grants

The Center is no longer accepting proposals for Curriculum Enhancement Grants for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Congratulations to the 2010-2011 award recipients.

Purpose

These grants support curriculum enhancement and/or course developments that advance student knowledge and/or practice of:
  • responsible leadership
  • social responsibility
  • governance
  • citizenship
  • ethics
  • sustainability
  • community development

Awards

Awards of $1,000 will be disbursed in the form of a stipend and/or reimbursement.  Up to ten grants will be awarded across campus.

Eligibility

Any faculty member eligible for membership in UWT Faculty Assembly during the 2010-2011 academic year may apply for this grant.  Grants must be used to enhance courses that will be taught by the applicant during the 2010-2011 academic year.  Faculty who are co-teaching a single course can apply for separate grants but should make one joint application.

Application Requirements

Grant applications should describe the proposed changes to the course and discuss how they link to the mission of the Center, which is “to develop socially responsible leaders who build sustainable organizations and communities.”  The grant application will be open and available for completion from March 1, 2010 – April 12, 2010 on this website (bottom of this page).

Completed applications must be submitted electronically to clsr@u.washington.edu by April 12, 2010 at 5:00 PM for consideration.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated by the Center’s Executive and Academic Directors along with a committee composed of faculty representing the units from which applications have been received.  Applications will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  • Quality of the proposal
  • Fit with Center’s mission
  • Potential impact on UWT students (magnitude of impact and/or number of students)

Note: In making its final decisions, the grant committee will consider the overall portfolio of grants.
