Eligibility
Any faculty member eligible for membership in UWT Faculty Assembly during the 2014-2015 academic year may apply for this grant. These activities or enhancements supported by the grant must be implemented during the 2014-2015 academic year.
Application Requirements
Community Engagement Grants
Grant applications should (1) describe the proposed changes to the course that enhance community engagement, (2) discuss how they link to the mission of the Center, which is "to develop socially responsible leaders who build sustainable organizations and communities,” and (3) describe the expected impact on students and the community. The grant application will be open and available for completion until the application deadline.
Curriculum Enhancement Grants
Grant applications should (1) describe the proposed changes to and existing -OR- proposed elements of the new course, (2) discuss how they link to the mission of the Center, which is “to develop socially responsible leaders who build sustainable organizations and communities,” and (3) describe the expected impact on students. The grant application will be open and available for completion until the application deadline.
Application Deadline
Completed applications must be submitted electronically to clsr@uw.edu by the April 2014 deadline (date TBD) for consideration.
Evaluation Criteria
Both application types (Community Engagement and Curriculum Enhancement) will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Innovativeness and quality of the proposal
- Fit with Center’s mission
- Potential impact on UWT students (both) and the community (engagement grants)
Applicants will be evaluated by Center staff, who will consider the overall portfolio of grants in their decisions.
Responsibilities of Grant Recipients
Grant recipients are responsible for implementing the proposed course enhancements and/or community engagement activities in their awarded course during the 2014-2015 academic year.
Recipients must also submit a one page description of how the grant was used and its impact. This is due by the end of the month in which the quarter ends when the course is taught (Dec / Mar / Jun). We do this so the Center may evaluate and communicate the value of the grant program and provide the Center’s fund donors with a summary report.
