How do I get my UW Tacoma Husky Card?

UW Tacoma Husky Cards are issued by the Office of the Registrar. For new undergraduate students, you will receive your Husky Card once you attend Husky Orientation Week activities. Visit the Office of the Registrar website for more information about getting your UW Tacoma Husky Card, or contact:

What should I do if my UW Tacoma Husky Card is lost or stolen?

If your UW Tacoma Husky Card is lost or stolen, and you have money in your Dawg Dollars Account, immediately report your UW Tacoma Husky Card as lost or stolen through the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account website, where you can login and suspend activity on your account until your UW Tacoma Husky Card is found or replaced.
 
You may also contact UW Tacoma Food Services by phone, during regular business hours, or email, to report the card as lost or stolen and suspend activity on your account. Up-to-date contact information is available on the UW Tacoma Food Services Website. Any loss on your UW Tacoma Husky Card is limited to the amount you deposit. You are responsible for all losses on your UW Tacoma Husky Card.
 
If you decide the card will not be found and would like a replacement you must pay a non-refundable twenty five (25) dollar fee. After paying the fee, you can request a replacement card by visiting the Office of the Registrar (MAT 253). Faculty and Staff can pay online through the Cashier’s Office. Once a replacement card has been issued, you cannot go back to using an old UW Tacoma Husky Card. This is a security feature built into our system for the protection of our card holders and cannot be overridden.

How do I get a replacement UW Tacoma Husky Card?

UW Tacoma Husky Cards can be replaced in three easy steps!
 
For Current Students:
 
1.) If your UW Tacoma Husky Card is lost or stolen, and you have money in your Dawg Dollars Account, Suspending activity on your Husky Card can done by logging on to your UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account and selecting 'Lost or Stolen Card' from the menu. Additionally, you may also contact UW Tacoma Food Services by phone, during regular business hours, or email, to report the card as lost or stolen and suspend activity on your account.
 
2.) For current students, visit the Office of the Registrar (MAT 253), to request a new UW Tacoma Husky Card. A twenty five (25) dollar card replacement fee will be added to your student account.
 
3.) Pay the non-refundable twenty five (25) dollar card replacement fee on your MyUW account There are no service charges if you use the webcheck option. Or in-person (cash or check) at the Cashier's Office.
 
 
For Faculty and Staff:
 
1.) If your UW Tacoma Husky Card is lost or stolen, and you have money in your Dawg Dollars Account, Suspending activity on your Husky Card can done by logging on to your UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account and selecting 'Lost or Stolen Card' from the menu. Additionally, you may also contact UW Tacoma Food Services by phone, during regular business hours, or email, to report the card as lost or stolen and suspend activity on your account.  
 
2.) Pay the non-refundable twenty five (25) dollar card replacement fee. This fee can be paid online, or in-person (cash or check) at the Cashier's Office.
 
3.) After paying the fee, you can request a new UW Tacoma Husky Card at the Office of the Registrar (MAT 253). Be sure to bring a copy of your receipt when you go to get your new card. If you forget your receipt, you can retrieve it from the Report section located on the TouchBase dashboard.

My lost card included a U-PASS. How can I replace that?

There is no additional fee to replace the U-PASS. The U-PASS will be automatically active on your replacement card within 24–48 hours of obtaining the replacement. Visit the UW Tacoma Transportation Services website for additional information about the U-PASS, or contact:

How can I protect my UW Tacoma Husky Card from damage?

It is important to protect and take proper care of your Husky Card:
  • Don't bend or punch a hole anywhere on your card, the RFID chip and antenna can be damaged, requiring a replacement (a non-refundable twenty five (25) dollar fee is charged to your account for replacement cards)
  • Scratches to the magnetic strip can also damage your card, consider buying a protective holder to keep your card in
  • Keep your Husky Card away from all magnets and cell phones

Do I need a new UW Tacoma Husky Card now?

No, if you already have a UW Tacoma Husky Card you will be able to load Dawg Dollars on it!

I currently have a Husky Card Account Balance through UW Seattle, can I be refunded?

In July 2017, the Tacoma campus will roll-out a new feature of your Husky Card – Dawg Dollars. The UW Seattle Housing and Food Services (HFS) account balance you currently have will need to be refunded as the value of your account will not work on the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars program. You can request your current Husky Card refund online by visiting UW Seattle's Online Card Office, or contact the office directly from your UW email account at huskycrd@uw.edu

Where can I add funds to my UW Tacoma Husky Card?

The easiest way to add funds to your UW Tacoma Husky Card is online through the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account website using Visa or MasterCard (there is a five (5) dollar minimum for deposits). UW Tacoma Husky Cards have a balance limit of $2,000 and are refundable subject to the Terms & Conditions of the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account.

You can also add funds to your UW Tacoma Dog Dollars Account at the Cashier's Office (using cash or check), or through payroll deduction (coming soon)!

Where can I use my UW Tacoma Husky Card?

The available funds on your UW Tacoma Husky Card can be spent at a variety of locations across campus including:

Your UW Tacoma Husky Card also serves as your UW Tacoma library card and your quarterly U-PASS (if you choose to sign up for it).

How do I check the balance on my UW Tacoma Husky Card?

To view your current Dawg Dollars account balance, visit the online UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account website.  Additionally, your balance can be viewed under the 'Accounts' section of the MyUW portal.

How can I open a UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account?

All UW Tacoma students, faculty and staff who have UW Tacoma Husky Cards are set up with a UW Tacoma Dog Dollars Account automatically. To activate your account, simply make a deposit online through the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account website using Visa or MasterCard, or make a deposit (using check or cash) at the Cashier's Office. There is a five (5) dollar minimum for deposits.

How do I close my UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account?

Account balances greater than five (5) dollars may be refunded by completing the Dawg Dollars Refund Request Form or by submitting a written request to uwtcard@uw.edu.  Written requests must include your name and Student ID/Employee ID along with a current mailing address. All Dawg Dollar refunds are processed by check within ten(10) business days of the initial request.  Accounts less than five (5) dollars will be charged a service fee, up to the total amount of the existing balance. Please note that we do not permit cash refunds or withdrawals.
