Community

Light rail stops right in front of campus

UW Tacoma enjoys a close relationship with the South Puget Sound community. From its very beginning, civic-minded leaders have supported the university and helped bring it to fruition. Today this symbiotic partnership results in many connections between UW Tacoma faculty, staff and students working together with government agencies, business groups and non-profit organizations.

Campus life

Campus life graphic

At UW Tacoma, everything and everybody is on the move. The light-rail Link rolls by in front of campus as students gather between classes to sip lattés and discuss ideas.

The environment here is dynamic, in part because of downtown Tacoma's renaissance, in part because of the energy of minds at work. A sense of unlimited possibility permeates the campus. You can become part of it.
