The top priority of Information Technology is to support teaching and learning as well as all the administrative activities at UW Tacoma. We continue to provide a technical infrastructure and a technology environment to enable faculty, staff and students to fully engage in interdisciplinary and innovative teaching and scholarship on our campus.
To ensure operational excellence and exceptional customer service, we consult work with a diverse group of instructors in our campus on an on-going basis. We provide support and training for Canvas and Catalyst Web Tools, offer podcasting and video casting (vodcasting) service to selected courses so that students can review the classes throughout the quarter and more. Our hope is that we will continue to develop IT best practices to share with all campus members.
We have equipped two more classrooms in the recently opened Tioga Library Building. For students taking classses in the Joy Building collaborative learning classrooms, we provide them with 24 PC and 6 Mac computers in a laptop cart during classes.
Recently, we have redesigned the Use of University Facilities (UUF) form to be more user-friendly for faculty and staff to reserve campus facilities.
If you have any suggestions on how to improve our services, please contact me directly. I will seriously consider each and every input received. Thank you.
Vice Chancellor for Information Technology
