|Weeks 1-9||Complete Request for Degree/WARRANT online. Make an appointment with the graduate program adviser to receive hard copy of Request for Degree/WARRANT for signatures.||No later than the first day of your final quarter, familiarize yourself with the information on Electronic Thesis Submission.
Begin the process, and follow the steps. Remember to print your Master's Supervisory Committee Form.
|Week 5||Submit final draft of thesis or project to your Thesis/Project Committee by end of business Friday of Week 5.|

|Thesis or Project available to you by Monday of week 8. Make any required changes and resubmit to Thesis/Project Committee along with the following form(s) for signatures: Request for Degree/WARRANT (all students) and Master's Supervisory Committee Approval Form (Thesis students only).|

|Thesis/Project available to you by Monday at the latest. Make 1 copy of thesis or project for the program and have it bound be the UW Tacoma Copy Center (or elsewhere) with transparent cover and black tape spine binding.
Submit original signed copy of Request for Degree/WARRANT along with bound program copy of thesis and any supporting materials to graduate program adviser by 5:00 pm on Thursday of the final week of the term.
|Submit thesis electronically no later than 5:00pm Friday of the last day of the quarter (finals week).
Submit the Master's Supervisory Committee Form (hard copy) to the Graduate School per instructions on the Electronic Thesis Submission website no later than 5:00pm the MONDAY following the last day of the quarter.

Do you need more time? Did you miss the application deadline? The Graduate School offers a Graduate Registration Waiver fee option.
|If ANY component of the thesis submission process is not complete (e.g. Request for Degree, Master's Supervisory Committee Approval Form or thesis/project), you will not graduate. Contact the graduate program adviser if you have missed a deadline or are having difficulty completing your thesis/project.|
The final draft of your thesis must be submitted to your thesis committee by the end of week 5 of your final quarter. The committee will return it to you by the end of week 8 with any required revisions noted. For Autumn, Winter and Spring quarter graduates, the final version of your thesis is due to the committee by the beginning of week 10, and it will be returned to you by the beginning of week 11 (finals week).
Summer quarter is only 9 weeks long, and summer graduates must arrange for final submission to all committee members at an agreed upon date no later than Wednesday of week 9.
Be sure to check with your committee members in regard to their ability to meet with you for signatures. Once you have made all suggested changes, submit the thesis in its final form for your committee to review, along with your Request for Degree and the Master's Supervisory Committee Approval Form by the close of business Friday of the last week of class — not finals week.

Follow the instructions for electronic submission of your thesis and the submission of the Master's Supervisory Committee Approval Form to the Graduate School per the instructions on the Electronic Thesis Submission website.
IAS archive copy and Request for Degree
In addition to the signed Request for Degee, IAS requires that you also submit a bound copy of your thesis for our program archives no later than 5:00 pm Thursday of finals week. Make an appointment with the graduate program adviser to do this.
Commencement and Hooding Ceremonies
We have both a commencement and a hooding event for our MAIS graduates every June. Information about our annual celebratory events appears on the UW Tacoma website in spring quarter. We hope you will join us to celebrate your academic success.
