Study Abroad

Study Abroad

In the Office of International Programs, we believe studying abroad gives students the opportunity to visit new places, experience different cultures, broaden their perspectives and enhance their life experience while simultaneously earning credit towards their degree. Our students are able to leave the classroom and travel with faculty to a distant site to study diverse topics. If you're a student at UW Tacoma, check out the options available below; your academic program may be offering a study abroad course and itcould be an excellent opportunity to meet degree requirements while having a more diverse, in-depth experience than you could here on campus.

Additional Opportunities

Opportunities to study abroad are also available to UW Tacoma students through the Seattle and Bothell campuses. To search for additional options, you can visit the following websites:

Upcoming Student Pre-Departure Workshops

  • 5/25/16, 12:30-1:30pm - BHS 107
  • 5/25/16, 4:30-5:30pm - JOY 113
  • 6/7/16, 2:00-3:00pm - JOY 109

All workshops are the same and students should attend 1. And all students are required to attend!

**If you applied to a UW Tacoma study abroad program last year and wish to do so again this year, you may encounter a glitch in the application. The glitch sends you to your last application and does not allow you to save new changes. This will be fixed in the future. As for now, the easiest way around this is for you to type out the application yourself and email an electronic copy to International Programs and the faculty member leading the program.

An alternative solution would be for you to ask a friend to log on to the application under their Net ID and then let you prepare the application. Your friend should not have applied to a study abroad program last year and should not be applying to one this year.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
