Advertising Resources

The following resources are made available to everyone on the UW Tacoma campus, including RSOs, departments and academic programs. However, all content that is being advertised should be geared towards UW Tacoma students. All of these services are offered at no cost by our office.

Husky 411 Email Announcements

 

Every Monday during the academic year, our office sends the Husky 411 email to campus. This is an informative email that has upcoming programs, events and services for the campus. Many student organizations and department utilize this service.

If you have information that you would like to be announced in the Husky 411, please submit a request through the Advertising Resources Request on DawgDen. You will need to provide the following information:

WHERE:
DETAILS: (Please limit to 75 words)
CONTACT INFORMATION:

Announcements need to be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Thursday of each week. Requests submitted after this deadline will not be included in the following Monday's email.


Flyers

 

All flyers that student organizations want to post on the bulletin boards around campus must be approved and stamped beforehand by our office. Bring flyers to the Center for Student Involvement in UWY 107 to be stamped. Any flyers that have been posted without a stamp will be removed. Please remember to be courteous of other postings. Do not overlap other flyers on the bulletin boards.

Did you know that the Center for Student Involvement offers FREE printing to UW Tacoma students - including student organizations? Paper (up to 11" x 17") and color printing are included!


Campus Television Screens

 

There are several television screens across campus available for advertising event information. If you would like to advertise on these screens, please follow these steps:

  1. Create a landscape-oriented document with a 2:1 ratio (2000 x 1000 pixels) and save as a JPEG file. (Quick design tip: You can create your image as a PowerPoint slide, and save it as a jpeg!)
  2. Make sure advertisement isn't too busy - "less is more"
  3. Include pertinent info (WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, DETAILS, CONTACT INFORMATION)
  4. Submit advertisements through the Advertising Resources Request on DawgDen.
  5. Television ads are updated as they are received, typically within 1-2 days after approval. 

The television screens have the following specifications:

  • Image Size: 2000 x 1000 pixels (W x H)
  • Aspect Ratio: 2:1
  • Cycle Time: 30 seconds

Social Media

 

The Center for Student Involvement maintains a presence on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. These resources are especially useful for last-minute advertisements or announcements. Social media may be utilized for advertising similar to email, flyer and television screen announcements. Please submit social media announcements through the Advertising Resources Request on DawgDen.
