Student policies and resources

The student handbook is your guide to KeyBank Professional Development Center policies, procedures and contacts. All new students should review the handbook before their classes begin.

Withdrawal policy

All withdrawals must be submitted in writing (can be e-mailed to keypdc@uw.edu) and include your full name, course name and number and date of class. If you withdraw at least 48 hours before the first class, you will receive a full refund. If you withdraw less than 48 hours before the first class, you may credit your payment to a future class. No refunds are given after the class begins.

Cancellation policy

In the event that we need to cancel a class we will make every effort to contact you by telephone and e-mail. If we cancel a class, you will receive either a refund or credit for another class, whichever you prefer.

Refund policy

Students must make a written request to withdraw. Written requests should be sent to uwtpdctr@u.washington.edu or mailed to the KeyBank Professional Development Center, UW Tacoma, 1900 Commerce Street, Tacoma, WA 98402. Students withdrawing by 5 p.m. 24 hours BEFORE the program begins, are eligible for a full refund of all fees except the $10 registration fee. There is no refund for withdrawals after the first day of class.

Earning a Certificate of Completion

You are evaluated on the basis of standards established by the instructors and advisory board. At the end of each course, you are notified of successful or unsuccessful completion. When you have successfully completed all of the required courses in a non-credit program, you will be awarded a certificate.

Once accepted into a certificate program, you have one year within which to complete it.
