Printing to the library printers from your personal laptop

  • Go to Wireless Printing Locations.
  • Scroll down to UWT DOUBLE SIDED, UWT SINGLE SIDED, UWT LIBRARY, and UWT LIBRARY DUPLEX.
    1. The drivers with LIBRARY in the name print to the printer in the UW Tacoma Library ONLY.
    2. UWT Single Sided and UWT Double Sided print to multiple locations on campus (WG 108, CP 005, and the Library Copier/Printer)

Pay Printing in the Library

The library provides access to Creative Communications' pay printing system, colloquially referred to as 'Pharos.'

By default, all Library computers print to the UWT_LIBRARY_2_SIDED print queue. The printer that can print these jobs is only located in the Library and the print jobs are double-sided by default. If you want to print single-sided, simply choose the UWT_LIBRARY_1_SIDED print queue.

The Library also provides access to a second set of print queues called UWT_SINGLE_SIDED and UWT_DOUBLE SIDED. These print queues are special because they can be retrieved in the Library and in any of the computer labs on campus. If you see a long line at the Library printer, you can always send the job to this alternate queue and run over to the lab in WG-108 or CP-005 to retrieve it.

To pay for these jobs you will need to add money to your Husky Card (Student ID) either by adding cash to the card at the Library's add-value station which is located near the printers, or by adding funds online with a credit card.

Color Printing on Campus

Color printing, poster sized printing, and other specialty jobs are handled by the UW Tacoma Copy Center which is is located in MAT 053 in the alley behind the Harmon building. 

Not only are they the only location that provides color printing/copying but the Copy Center's pricing is cheaper than the Pharos system and you can pay using cash, debit, or credit card.  Husky Cards are not accepted.

You can either take your job over to the copy center on a USB drive or you can email the job to uwtcc@uw.edu

Free Printing on Campus

Free, bring-your-own-paper (BYOP), black-and-white, laser printers connected to PCs are located in the following areas:

  • Dougan 1st floor atrium
  • Mattress Factory oUWTpost
  • Science 3rd floor south stairwell
  • WCG 1st floor atrium
  • Joy (Summer 2011)

You must bring your own paper and have a campus network login.  These stations, including toner cartridges, are funded by your student technology fees.
