Who should apply? Current Milgard School of Business students, business alumni, or prospective students interested in obtaining a master's degree while earning credits to qualify for the State of Washington CPA exam. All students entering the program must have a bachelor's degree before the program begins.
When do classes meet? Classes are planned for 4 evenings a week; Monday-Thursday from 4:15 - 8:35 p.m.
When is the application deadline and what are the required documents? Admission to the program is for Autumn quarter only, with an application deadline of April 15, 2012. Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed and accepted based on space availability. GMAT is required. To apply, complete the online application to the University of Washington Graduate School that includes the Milgard School of Business MAcc program application forms and pay application fees.
Is there a fee to apply? Yes. The University of Washington Graduate School charges a $75 application fee. The fee is paid online using MasterCard or Visa credit or debit cards.
Can I apply if I have a GPA below a 3.0? Yes. The Admission Committee will begin its review of all complete applications recieved by April 15. If your cumulative GPA is below 3.0, we would still encourage you to apply. Applicant pools vary, and you may still be competitive. The review committee will evaluate each piece of your application, and your strengths in other areas (i.e. high GMAT score, essays) can help compensate for a lower GPA. There are no conditional admission options.
Is there financial assistance available? Yes. Financial Aid assistance (loans) may be available for students enrolled in fee-based programs. Students seeking scholarships must apply for admission by the April 15, 2012 deadline and complete the MAcc scholarship application.
What are the GMAT requirements? Each applicant must take the GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test. We advise applicants to take the examination early. There is no minimum score, however average score for the applicant pool is estimated at 600. Submit your complete application even though you may have a later test date. GMAT scores are valid for five years. When you take the test, inform the Educational Testing Service (ETS) that it must forward your scores to the University of Washington Tacoma, Milgard School MAcc program.
