UW Tacoma Motor Pool
The University of Washington Tacoma Motor Pool currently has one 8-passenger van, one 12-passenger van, and one hybrid sedan available for use by authorized drivers and passengers. Motor Pool vehicles are provided at cost for individuals/departments authorized to travel on official University business. Use of a vehicle will be recharged to the campus department requesting its use.
All use of Motor Pool vehicles falls under applicable University of Washington policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:
- University of Washington Administrative Policy Statement 53.2
- Washington State Administrative and Accounting Manual, Section 12.3 "State Motor Vehicle Driver Requirements"
- Authorized Drivers and Passengers
- Program Policy Manual for Drivers
Location
The UW Tacoma Facilities office is located in MAT 004; office hours for the Motor Pool are 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. All reservations should be made using the "Reserve a Vehicle" link located on the left hand margin. Other Vehicle Options
Enterprise Rent-a-Car
In the event that a motor pool vehicle is not available, users can arrange with UW Tacoma Facilities to rent an alternative vehicle through a regional Enterprise rental office. Operators of leased and rented vehicles are are subject to the same training requirements as operators of other Motor Pool vehicles.
UW Tacoma Facilities
UW Tacoma campus users may reserve a 3/4 Ton pickup truck through Facilities and Campus Services.
Zipcar
UW Tacoma has partnered with Zipcar to bring self-service, on-demand car sharing to campus. Learn more at the UW Tacoma Zipcar site.
UW Fleet Services
Users may also arrange for a vehicle through the UW Seattle Fleet Services. Note that Fleet Services does not deliver vehicles to the Tacoma campus. Users must make individual arrangements to pick up and return motor pool vehicles to UW Seattle.
Fleet Services can also provide assistance with vehicles designed for the mobility limited.
