Motor Pool Rates

Rental Rates

Current UW Tacoma rental rates are listed below. The UWT Motor Pool is a self-sustaining operation.  As such, rental rates are set to cover the full cost of doing business.

Motor Pool rates for the 2012-13 fiscal year are:

  • Toyota Prius Hybrid, $25.37 per day plus $.12 per mile
  • 8- and 12-Passenger Vans, $68.64 per day, free mileage up to 100 miles per day, $.35 for each excess mile.

In the event that a UW Tacoma Motor Pool vehicle is not available, the Motor Pool will arrange for a comparable Enterprise vehicle at the same daily and mileage rate.

Motor Pool fees cover the following costs:

  • Regular unleaded fuel and motor oil
  • Emergency purchases such as tires and batteries (if replacement is required through no negligence of the operator)
  • Towing and repair charges resulting from a vehicle breakdown

Regular maintenance services will be performed through UWT Facilities on University owned vehicles.

The UWT vehicle rental fee does not cover the following costs:

  • Parking fees
  • Traffic or parking fines, including penalties for late payments
  • Ferry and bridge tolls
  • Storage fees
  • Vehicle damage
  • Cleaning services (inside/outside) for unusually littered/dirty vehicles
