Hiring Information and Teaching Demo
Lecturer appointment guidelines UW revised September 1, 2016
Candidate applies to teach at the Institute of Technology and provides materials for review
- Curriculum Vitae
- Teaching evaluations
- A list of the courses that you can teach
The program invites the candidate to do a teaching demonstration.
Approving the appointment
Step #1 The faculty from each program vote on the part-time faculty appointment in their program.
Step #2 The Institute council approves the appointment.
Appointment is approved
Once the appointment is approved, the candidate will need to complete the hiring paperwork.
Items that you will need to provide:
- Three Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Data Form (PDF)
- Employment Eligibility I-9 Form - List of Acceptable Documents
- Transcript with Highest Degree Earned
- W-4 Withholding Allowance Certificate Form (this will be done trough Workday)
- Direct Deposit (can be done online through Workday)

Send all the completed forms and transcript to the academic administrator at email@example.com
Have the letters of recommendation sent directly to the academic administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org

The academic administrator will send you an appointment contract to sign. Once, you sign it return it to the administrator, either in person, via mail, or send a signed scanned copy.
You’ve completed all your paperwork, now what?
You will receive an e-mail from Workday. This e-mail will instruct you to complete your I-9 online and setup your netid e-mail.
Workday is the HR/Payroll System:
Paydays are the 10th and 25th of each month.
