We are excited for you to join the Husky family and welcome any questions you may have as you consider your offer. Choosing a college can be stressful, yet exciting, so be sure to allow yourself adequate time to research and evaluate your options. We hope that UW Tacoma will be your destination for a rewarding college experience.

If you haven’t done so already, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be considered for UW Tacoma scholarships, you must complete the FAFSA by January 15.

If you haven't already done so, create your UW NetID. Your NetID is required for orientation and registration. Instructions were sent to your email and can also be found online at: https://uwnetid.washington.edu/newid/. If you lost this email, please call us at 253-692-4742.
After creating your UW NetID, you'll be prompted to create a UW email inbox. Whether you keep a UW email inbox or have your UW email forwarded to a non-UW inbox, it is essential that you receive and read your UW email regularly.
All newly enrolled students are required to provide proof of measles (rubeola) immunity by submitting a Measles Immunity Verification form.
Freshmen: You must request a final high school transcript from the high school registrar before high school graduation (and before school closes for the summer). Your transcript must include your final quarter grades and confirmation of your graduation. You must submit your final transcripts to UW Tacoma by July 1. If not received by July 1, a hold may be placed on your registration.
Transfer students: You must submit updated transcripts for all college coursework at least two weeks prior to your first day of instruction.
You will get a lot of valuable information, plus have a chance to familiarize yourself with campus just before classes start. More information about Orientation, including how to sign up for it, will be sent separately to you.
After you complete an Orientation you may stop by the Office of the Registrar in MAT 253 to get your photo taken and to get your student ID card. You can do this any time during normal business hours (Monday - Friday). You can also do this during Husky Orientation Week.
