Capstone and Paper Prize

Capstone

All Law and Policy and PP&E majors are required to complete a capstone class.  Typically taken during the student’s last year, capstone classes are an opportunity to weave together knowledge and skills gained over the course of the major.

Students may meet the capstone requirement through a seminar (TPOLS 480), which focuses on a substantial research paper, or through one of PPPA's internship opportunities (TPOLS 496 or TPOLS 497). For the internship option, students also write a sustained academic paper in the form of a reflective essay.

PPPA Paper Prize

Every year, PPPA faculty evaluate all capstone papers, a few of which are selected for consideration for the annual PPPA Paper Prize. The winner of the PPPA Paper Prize has their paper included in our digital commons library, and gives a presentation of their paper to faculty and students.
