Scheduling an Advising Appointment

Scheduled Advising: Schedule an in-person or phone appointment with a Nursing and Healthcare Leadership advisor by using our online scheduling system. You will be directed to an advisor based on your selections in the system. Appointments can be made up to 12 hours in advance. 

Walk-in advising: If available, Nursing and Healthcare Leadership advisors will meet with students who stop into the program office. That said, walk-in advising is for quick questions (5-10 minutes) only. Our office is located in Cherry Parkes, room 326.

Meet your Advisor - Lindsey McBride

Lindsey advises Bachelor of Arts Healthcare Leadership (HCL) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students and prospective HCL & BSN students. Lindsey has over 12 years of experience working in education and has been with the University of Washington since 2007.

Dannah advises current and prospective Master of Nursing students. She has been advising UW Tacoma Nursing and Healthcare Leadership students for over 25 years.

Important Admission Dates

Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Leadership (HCL)*
Applications are generally accepted between October-March. The priority date is March 15th. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. The HCL major admits in Autumn Quarter only.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)*
Students must already be a Registered Nurse (RN) or be in school finishing an Associate Degree in Nursing-ADN (or equivalent) to be eligible for admittance. Applications are generally accepted between October-February. The priority deadline is February 15th. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. The BSN admits in Summer and Autumn Quarters. 

Master of Nursing (MN)
The priority deadline is quarterly. Please see updated application deadlines here. The MN degree admits every quarter, but Summer.

*All prerequisites must be complete in order to be eligible to enroll in your first quarter in the major. Please check the BSN & Healthcare Leadership webpage to see that you meet entrance requirements.
