Reflecting its commitment to serving the community, the University of Washington Tacoma Nursing Program celebrated its 20-year anniversary with a public lecture and reception on May 17, 2012.  Retired Washington National Guard Col. Margarethe Cammermeyer, PhD, RN, provided a keynote address on the “Leadership Imperative.”  The event was generously sponsored by Franciscan Health System; St. Joseph Medical Center Local Bargaining Unit, represented by the Washington State Nurses Association; Washington State Nurses Foundation; Pierce County Nurses Association; and the University of Washington Tacoma Arts & Lectures Fund.
