The UW Tacoma Nursing program scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic performance. If you have not already done so, submit the 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using Federal School Code 003798. After submitting the FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that includes an Expected Family Contribution (ECF) number. You need the ECF number for the scholarship application.
Some Nursing scholarships require a personal essay. Completed online applications (and any additional required items) are due May 9, 2014. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
You cannot save and return to the scholarship application. Once you begin the application, you must complete it or quit and start it over. Therefore, you should write your personal essay before starting the application. Personal essay topics are:
For merit-based Nursing scholarships: 1,000 words or less describing your goals for professional development, financial need and any barriers or difficulties you have faced in obtaining higher education.
For military-oriented Double Eagle Scholarship: 1,000 words or less describing how obtaining a nursing degree will help you achieve your military career goals or how this degree will help to achieve your professional or educational goals.
For Marjorie Dobratz Student Support Fund Scholarship available to MNs interested in careers in nursing education: 1,000 words or less describing your interest in the MN program with a focus on nursing education, your professional goals upon graduating, and how this scholarship will help you accomplish these professional goals.
MultiCare Endowed Scholarship applicants can find the supplemental application form here (link also in online application).
