Mentha Hynes-Wilson joined the University of Washington Tacoma team as Vice Chancellor for Student & Enrollment Services, August 1, 2017. Ms. Hynes-Wilson most recently served as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Salisbury University in Maryland. Her portfolio included oversight of programs and services that contribute to enhancing student success such as the Center for Student Achievement, the Counseling Center, Disability Support Services, Student Health Services, and TRiO Achieve.

Ms. Hynes-Wilson (or Ms. M, as she has been fondly called by students) has a broad background in outreach, enrollment, student engagement and many other aspects of student affairs. She has devoted her career to the development, assessment and improvement of programs and policies that facilitate access while maximizing opportunities for student success earning recognition as a “student friendly resource.”

In addition to her commitment to students, Hynes-Wilson is active in multiple professional associations and civic organizations. She is a member of the Association for Student Conduct Administration, the International Leadership Association, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and The Links, Incorporated.

Ms. Hynes-Wilson is committed to being accessible and transparent. The Office of the Vice Chancellor is working on an open office-hour concept to be introduced in Winter Quarter 2018 where no appointment is necessary.
