All students who are enrolled in any of the three University of Washington campuses (Tacoma, Seattle or Bothell) are held accountable to the Student Conduct Code. The code outlines both the expectations for behavior and the procedures for handling violations of the conduct code. Faculty and Staff members should understand the Student Conduct Code and their responsibility to uphold the rules and regulations.
The Student Conduct Code outlines the jurisdiction given to faculty in the classroom. WAC 478-120-020, section (3)(b): "An instructor has the authority to exclude a student from any class session in which the student is disorderly or disruptive."
Student Conduct Processes
Students may be documented for two main types of violations: Academic and Behavior. Faculty's role in these processes, as well as information about how to navigate the conduct system, is available below. Questions should be directed to Ed Mirecki, Dean of Student Engagement, at email@example.com.
