NOTE: Appointments are required for all Tuberculosis (TB) services at Student Health Services.

PPD – TB Skin Test Injection (requires 4 appointments)

  • Free of charge to UW Tacoma students who are eligible for Student Health Services.
  • The total time to complete a PPD Skin Test injection is 11 – 13 days.
    • Visit One
      • You’ll receive an injection.
    • Visit Two
      • 48 – 72 hours after Visit One
      • The practitioner will examine your body’s reaction to the injection.
    • Visit Three
      • 7 days after Visit Two
      • You’ll receive an injection.
    • Visit Four
      • 48 – 72 hours after Visit Three
      • The practitioner will examine your body’s reaction to the injection.

Quantiferon Gold  - TB Blood Test to confirm a recent positive PPD reading.

  • Students will not be charged for their office visit or their blood draw.
  • Students are responsible for lab testing, which may be paid by using private insurance or cash (discounts available).  They may also apply for financial assistance.

 

Chest X-Ray: For patients with a recent positive PPD reading.

  • Students will not be charged for their office visit.
  • Students are responsible for the x-ray service, which may be paid by using private insurance or cash (discounts available).  They may also apply for financial assistance.

 

Annual TB Symptom Check – For patients with a positive PPD reading in the past.

  • Free of charge to UW Tacoma students who are eligible for Student Health Services.
