Thank you to our state legislators for their support providing $36,000,000 in construction funding in the 2021-23 biennium budget.
Combined with nearly $10 million in private funding, the state investment for this new hub for engineering, business, and innovation will add 55,000 square feet of new campus facilities — including state-of-the-art classrooms and labs — for South Sound students, especially for those pursuing our new Mechanical and Civil Engineering degree programs. It will also allow us to continue to grow our enrollment in the Milgard School of Business and create an expanded Innovation & Design Hub.
The construction of the 55,000-sq ft Milgard Hall will:
Create space for new Mechanical and Civil Engineering degree programs in the School of Engineering & Technology, providing affordable access to these popular programs for South Sound residents
Deepen regional business and industry partnerships through the integration of business, technology, engineering and other disciplines
Open up space on campus for the growth of other programs
