About The Campaign
As of August 1, 2018, the University of Washington Tacoma had surpassed its original goal of $45 million and set a new target to raise an unprecedented $55 million. Yet even with our new goal — and the campaign officially drawing to a close on June 30, 2020 — we recognize our work is not yet complete. The need for greater access to higher education remains high in Tacoma and Pierce County. And as our student population continues to grow, we are quickly running out of space.
To address this fact, we have prepared a request to the State for our next academic building. This Academic Innovation Building is also our next fundraising priority in the campaign. It will allow us to: increase enrollment in the Milgard School of Business; create spaces that fuel the adoption of new Mechanical and Civil Engineering programs; and develop an Innovation Center to foster an interdisciplinary approach to innovation, design-thinking and entrepreneurship. In addition to state resources required, we must reach further in this campaign and raise additional funds to fuel the development of this critical facility.
Campaign Leadership Team
The University of Washington Tacoma is proud to have a strong group of volunteer community leaders to serve as key advisors, advocates and principal spokespeople in our campaign.
