The Milgard Women’s Initiative (MWI) at the UW Tacoma Milgard School of Business advocates for all women through integrated strategies to engage women as creative and innovative leaders throughout their organizations and communities. The Council of Directors supports these strategies primarily through:
- Providing advice and advocacy for the growth and development of programs, and by helping to identify contacts and resources to assist in the implementation and broad reach of MWI’s programs.
- Identifying funding for development and implementation of programs in support of the MWI strategies.
The Council is comprised of approximately 12-15 Directors, primarily from the Pacific Northwest region. Members serve three-year terms renewable for three terms. Representation reflects diverse backgrounds and business sectors.
The Council of Directors includes three standing committees in support of MWI - Programming, Advancement, and Governance. Committees meet informally during the year to develop initiatives, set priorities, and address new opportunities.
