Northwest Cybersecurity SymposiumA Coordinated Response to Safeguarding Our Infrastructure, Networks & Systems

Tuesday, May 5, 2015
8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

William W. Philip Hall
1918 Pacific Avenue, UW Tacoma campus

In recent months, cyberattacks on Sony Pictures Entertainment and Anthem Inc. have forced business leaders and policy makers to rethink the current U.S. strategy in defending and protecting our infrastructure, networks and systems. In this symposium, we bring together prominent individuals to discuss this threat and what it would mean to construct and implement a more “coordinated response” to such attacks.

It is our aim, through our keynote speakers and panelists, that we share ideas that not only help us better understand the challenges we face, but also inform us about how we can work together to protect our networks and critical information systems against the rising threat of increasingly sophisticated hackers. The speakers will help us to delve deeply into the ways we might produce the desired competence and multi-sector relationships that will allow us to collaborate effectively to find solutions to safeguard our infrastructure, networks and systems.

This event is open by invitation only. For more information, contact Rosalynn Johnson at rozjohn@uw.edu or 253-692-4923.
