Umoja 2019 Special Guest Speaker: DJ Crisostomo
DJ Crisostomo is the Pre-College Coordinator for the University of Washington Tacoma where he supports college-going culture initiatives for several local school district partners and community organizations. DJ earned his Bachelor of Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and his Master of Public Administration from The Evergreen State College. His professional and civic experience for the past twenty years has been centered on helping youth and their families make informed decisions about their futures.
Umoja 2019 Senior Class of 2019 Speaker: Nancy Mburu
Nancy Mburu is a student at the University of Washington Tacoma receiving her bachelor of arts with a major in writing and a minor in Global studies.On campus, she is a student leader for the Center for Equity and Inclusion. She is an advocate for food security through her position at the UWT Pantry. Issues of social justice is something very dear to her heart and she is happy to use writing to address these inequalities.
