These workshops are designed to increase the overall campus community's understanding and awareness of the issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities.

Workshop #1 LGBTQ Core Competency
*Registration is required. This training is open for all students, staff and faculty.

The LGBTQ+ Core Competency training is designed to provide the foundational terminology, information, and tools you need to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Learn more about gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, the terminology to use, what it all means, and why it’s important, and how to apply it in your own life personally and professionally.
In a safe and inclusive learning environment, participants can ask questions and engage in discussions openly and respectfully.
Workshop #2 Making Safe Spaces:
*Registration is required. FACULTY AND STAFF SESSION ONLY

This workshop is designed to provide faculty and staff a space to learn about making safe spaces for LGBTQ+ students. Through scenarios, discussion, Q&A, and lecture, participants will work together to creatively rethink our spaces and practices in order to make our educational communities inclusive.
Workshop #3 LGBTQ+ Rights: Yesterday and Today
*Registration is required. This training is open for all students, staff, and faculty.

Take a walk through history by learning about the LGBTQ+ rights movement in the United States from the 1950s to today. Learn more about our current struggles for justice and equality including whether LGBTQ+ issues should be addressed in schools, transgender inclusion in sports, and access to gender-affirming care for transgender youth.
