University of Washington Tacoma and Tacoma Community College is hosting the

NWBIO 2017 in Tacoma, WA

Early Bird Registration $130  -- Register by Monday, April 3, 2017 for special pricing.
Registration after April 3, 2017 $150.  
Registration deadline Friday, April 28, 2017

Friday
  • 5 -7:30 pm Appetizers-Only Dinner & Drinks (cash bar), Registration and Welcome—William W Philip Hall (WPH)
  • 7:30 pm Keynote: Vicky Minderhout and Jennifer Loertscher.  Seattle University, Using threshold concepts to improve learning in the molecular life sciences—WPH
Saturday
  • 8 am breakfast (pastries, fruit, coffee & tea)—WPH Foyer
  • 8:30-9:30 am, 60 minute workshops—WPH and SCI
  • 9:30-9:40 am, Break—WPH
  • 9:40-10:10 am, 30 minute workshops—WPH and SCI
  • 10:10-10:20 am, Break—WPH
  • 10:20-10:50 am, 30 minute workshops—WPH and SCI
  • 10:50-11:00 am, Break—WPH
  • 11 am – 12pm, Keynote: Dr. Megan Schwartz, UW Tacoma. Icy Inverts: A tour of Antarctic benthic marine invertebrate biodiversity —WPH
  • 12pm, Pick up box lunches—WPH Foyer
  • 12:15 - 5 pm Field trips—meet in traffic circle for buses
  • 5pm, Appetizers and Social Hour (cash bar)—WPH
  • 6pm, Dinner and Keynote, Dr. David Cook, Talk title TBD—WPH
