We have an opportunity to bring together in alignment several fundamental parts of our student- and community-focused mission. These units, which are critical to our values of access and excellence, include the Center for Equity & Inclusion (CEI), Library, Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) and veteran-related services (VMRC/VIBE).

Each of these units is well-established and has a proud history. Each has been engaged in innovative planning for our continued enrollment growth. Our campus planning team (CPRS), while working with the CEI this past summer on space planning, made a valuable observation: the possibility of moving these units into co-located facilities would enhance the UW Tacoma student experience by strengthening on-going efforts to promote student retention, persistence and success. The synergies fostered among these units would help bring our students and community together by unleashing new opportunities for learning, collaboration, community-building, and engagement.

These events are open to the entire campus community.

  • December 5, 2018 – Campus Town Hall #1, 12:30-1:15 p.m. at William Philip Hall
  • February 25, 2019 – Campus Open House, time and location TBA
  • March 2019 – Campus Town Hall #2, time and location TBA
