Why is the Dawg Dollars program being discontinued?
The primary goal of the Dawg Dollars program was to provide the UW Tacoma community, especially students, with more varied and lower-cost meal options. Analysis of Dawg Dollars transaction data indicates that the program did not and will not meet that goal. Given these results, program costs cannot be justified.
For how long will I be able to use my Dawg Dollars to pay for dining at participating vendors?
Program participants will be able to use their Dawg Dollars to purchase goods and services at participating vendors through June 19, 2019.
Can I still load funds onto my Dawg Dollars account?
Yes. Participants will be able to load funds through April 30, 2019.
How can I request a refund?
Refunds can be requested by completing the online web form available on the Dawg Dollars website.
If I have money on my Dawg Dollars account after June 19th, can I still be refunded?
Dawg Dollar accounts with a balance greater than $5.00 after June 19th will be automatically refunded to the debit/credit card that was used to load the account. Per the Dawg Dollars Terms & Conditions, accounts less than $5.00 will be charged a service fee, up to the total amount of the existing balance. Accounts with unspent/non-refunded balances as of June 19, 2019 will be attempted to be refunded to the originating debit/credit card. Should the account be closed, a refund cannot be processed unless requested by the cardholder by submitting a Refund Request Form as additional information is needed to process a check payment.
After the Dawg Dollars account is discontinued, will there still be discounts available at local merchants?
Yes. In most cases, merchants will offer discounts equal to or greater than those available through the Dawg Dollars program. Simply show your Husky Card at the time of purchase to receive your discount.

How can I protect my UW Tacoma Husky Card from damage?
- Don't bend or punch a hole anywhere on your card, the RFID chip and antenna can be damaged, requiring a replacement (a non-refundable twenty five (25) dollar fee is charged to your account for replacement cards)
- Scratches to the magnetic strip can also damage your card, consider buying a protective holder to keep your card in
- Keep your Husky Card away from all magnets and cell phones

Do I need a new UW Tacoma Husky Card now?
No, if you already have a UW Tacoma Husky Card you will be able to load Dawg Dollars on it!
I currently have a Husky Card Account Balance through UW Seattle, can I be refunded?
In July 2017, the Tacoma campus will roll-out a new feature of your Husky Card – Dawg Dollars. The UW Seattle Housing and Food Services (HFS) account balance you currently have will need to be refunded as the value of your account will not work on the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars program. You can request your current Husky Card refund online by visiting UW Seattle's Online Card Office, or contact the office directly from your UW email account at email@example.com.

How can I open a UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account?
All UW Tacoma students, faculty and staff who have UW Tacoma Husky Cards are set up with a UW Tacoma Dog Dollars Account automatically. To activate your account, simply make a deposit online through the UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account website using Visa or MasterCard, or make a deposit (using check or cash) at the Cashier's Office. There is a five (5) dollar minimum for deposits.
How do I close my UW Tacoma Dawg Dollars Account?
Account balances greater than five (5) dollars may be refunded by completing the Dawg Dollars Refund Request Form or by submitting a written request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Written requests must include your name and Student ID/Employee ID along with a current mailing address. All Dawg Dollar refunds are processed by check within ten(10) business days of the initial request. Accounts less than five (5) dollars will be charged a service fee, up to the total amount of the existing balance. Please note that we do not permit cash refunds or withdrawals.
