View of Alicante Earlier this summer, our Director of Student Fellowships & Study Abroad, Cindy Schaarschmidt, participated in a study tour to Spain for U.S. educators and study abroad professionals.  As part of the week-long program, she met with representatives of 21 different universities and study abroad organizations and visited campuses in Madrid, Alicante, Murcia, Cartagena, and Elche.

Cindy was also able to visit UW Tacoma’s Intensive Spanish program at the University of Alicante. We look forward to following up with academic units about study abroad, undergraduate research and intensive language programs at Spanish institutions of higher learning.

This trip was sponsored and fully funded by ICEX (Spanish Office for Foreign Trade), and EDUESPAÑA, an organization that promotes Spanish universities and other educational institutions in the U.S.
