Main page content

Zandria joined Global Honors in Autumn 2016 and majored in American Studies.

"Global Honors allowed me to dive into and explore my own interests. It also added structure to my college experience. It allowed me to work with others who were driven and interested in learning but also from various backgrounds and majors."

Zandria graduated summa cum laude in June 2019 and was nominated for the UW Tacoma President's Medal (Spring 2019). While at UWT, she received numerous awards, including the UWT Transfer Student Scholarship, Global Honors Core Course Paper Competition Award, American Studies Award, and the Husky Volunteer Silver Medallion. Having written her Global Honors capstone on "How Local Governments Fail at Democracy," Zandria immediately began putting her research into action as a member of the Kent City Council (elected November 2019).
