
Community Relations Liaison (IIGE)
Amy Newcomb is joining the IIGE as a specialist in community relations and fundraising. She is the Seattle volunteer alumni for the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at University of London, where her graduate research focused on women domestic workers in the Middle East. Her work experience includes, most previously, the Major Gifts Officer at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, and positions in the Diplomatic Corps, at the American University in Cairo, Tufts University, and the Lazord Foundation, a fellowship for college graduates in Egypt, Jordan, and Tunisia. Amy's research interests include service learning, civic engagement, community-based scholarship, and youth employability. Some of her publications include:
