Our mission is to create the conditions for ethical global engagement and to produce innovative solutions through interdisciplinary research, inclusive practice, and community engagement.
Welcome to the 2021 Global Engagement Conference website! Featured below are globally themed panels of competitively accepted papers, posters, and videos. The annual conference is open to all students from the University of Washington and area institutions. This online format is adapted for our remote learning pandemic environment. The conference is a dynamic space for global learning and community innovation exchange. Papers are selected based on their innovative solutions, depth of community engagement, and demonstrated understanding of global interdependency and interconnectedness.
The IIGE is home to the Global Honors Program and the Global Innovation and Design Lab. Please email iige@uw.edu to learn more about our programs.
Please sign in below. We welcome your comments and/or questions for each presenter through feedback links provided under each conference theme below.
We are also excited to announce our inaugural Global Engagement Conference (GEC) Competition. We thank conference attendees for their participation in selecting the top three conference submissions. The winners of the GEC Competition are Jack Levin, Divine Yagumyum, and - in a three-way tie - Zhaira Flores, Summer Turnberg, and Vanessa Umana.
Thank you for your support, we hope you enjoy the submissions and take with you inspiring new ideas for our community!
