International Education Week 2019
Through a collaborative effort, students, faculty, and staff, are excited to present UW Tacoma's fifth annual Around the World on January 16, 2019. This year's Around the World combines the Study Abroad Fair and cultural celebrations, as well as a diverse and engaging array of internationally and culturally focused opportunities for everyone. The campus community is invited to join in the celebration; mark your calendars to attend and explore international education!
Help with Around the World
We are looking for students, organizations, staff, or faculty who are interested in showcasing their culture, region, language, or country at Around the World. Table hosts can focus on a specific element of these topics - music, art, dance, language, fashion, etc. - or you can broadly introduce a topic. For example, you could focus closely on food in Sichuan Province, Korean dramas, Bhangra music, hijabi fashion, Polynesian dances, or Gullah language, or you could talk about the region or community your family is from, or you could introduce a country's geography and history. You do not need to be an international student to participate, nor does the table need to focus on the experiences of a group outside of the U.S.: we welcome anyone who wants an opportunity to talk about and celebrate the cultural identities they choose to share.
To host a table, please complete the Around the World Table Registration form today (please note: you must be logged into Google with your NetID to access this form). Work with friends or colleagues to finalize your table and show up on January 16 ready to engage participants during the International Education Fair!
