Dear Pre-Law Society and Friends,
We at UW Tacoma stand with all our students, staff and scholars, as well as the broader South Sound community, in support of the human rights of all residents. UW Tacoma is an institution of public higher education and we believe it is a part of our mission to serve the public good. To this end, we take seriously our responsibility to be a space where all community members can utilize our campus to further their own education. Thus, during the Pre-Law Society’s Immigration Conference Campus Safety will engage in safety planning and risk assessment focused on minimizing attendees possible concerns for their own safety. Any particular questions about protocols during the event can be directed toward our Director of Campus Safety, Susan Wagshul-Golden (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As UW President Ana Mari Cauce said in a recent statement, “we are fully committed to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment that protects the privacy and human rights of all members of our community.” We believe this as well and promise to do our best in ensuring such an environment during Our Tacoma Story: Education, Advocacy and Building Communities.
