Event Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in supporting the MLK Jr. Unity Breakfast event.

*Earliest volunteer assignment begins at 6:00 am the day of the event.

Phone will be used to contact primarily during the day of the event, if needed.
Classified employees are subject to earning holiday pay for participation in work related events - therefore your supervisor must be aware and approve your participation.
Assignment Preferences: Please select and order options in terms of your preference.  Weight
No Preference: Put me where I can be of assistance
Greeter: Greets guests and directs to the registration table
Registration Clerk: Checks-in registered guests and directs them toward the event space
Set-Up Assistant: Arrives several hours prior to the event to assist in set-up activities
Elevator Attendant: Assists checked-in guests to the event space via elevator
Stair Assistant: Assists checked-in guests to the event space via the stairs
Parking Attendant: Directs guests to parking options and assists in helping parked guests find the event entrance
Usher: Assists guests to assigned seating once they arrive to the 3rd floor event space
Floater: Assists in needed areas (may require movement across all event areas)
Break-Down Assistant: Stays beyond the event to help planning committee clean-up the event space and break-down all event items
Catering Assistant: Helps direct the flow of the catering line to ensure efficient, timely progress
Selecting a preference doesn't ensure you will be assigned that particular duty. However, the committee work to accomadate preferred stations.
Examples of limitations may include inablity to sit for long periods of time, inability travel up/down stairs, etc.

I understand that my commitment to being a volunteer/event helper is invaluable to the planning committee and vital to the success of the event. Failure to communicate and follow through on any confirmed duties may result in hardship for those conducting the event. I acknowlege this and agree to communicate any inabilitiy to follow through with my support.
