Sergio De La Torre, the critically acclaimed co-director of Maquilapolis: City of Factories, will discuss the film at UW Tacoma on Monday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m
The free film showing and discussion will be held at the Longshoremen's Hall at 1710 Market Street. Coffee and refreshments will be provided. The film showing is presented by the Latino Student Organization and the ACLU student chapter at UW Tacoma.
Directed by Vicki Funari and De La Torre, Maquilapolis examines the effects of globalization and unfair labor of female factory workers in Tijuana, Mexico. The film was honored with the 2007 Latin American Studies Association CASA Award of Merit in Film. Free coffee and refreshments will be provided
