Leadership series begins Feb. 1

Improve your business leadership skills with a certificate in leadership from UW Tacoma's Office of Continuing Studies this winter.

Milgard School of Business faculty member G. Kent Nelson will teach the six-week Leadership in a Changing World certificate program beginning Friday, Feb. 1. Participants in the program will learn about leadership and vision, communication skills, conflict resolution, team-building and everyday leadership challenges. The program is designed for current business managers or anyone who wants to improve their business leadership skills.

Nelson, who holds a Ph.D. in speech communication from the UW, is a well-known local public speaker, facilitator and trainer. He has been a management and communication consultant for several prominent South Puget Sound service organizations and private companies.

Classes meet on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuition is $1,260 for the entire series. Advance registration is required.
