Project W: Installing an Icon

Seattle has one. Bothell has one. Now Tacoma has the opportunity for its own iconic W statue.
Seattle has one. Bothell has one.

Now Tacoma will get its own iconic W statue.

This summer, UW Tacoma will unveil a metal W statue at the top of the grand staircase, set against stunning views of campus.

UW Tacoma's new installation will be eight feet tall and made of steel, setting it apart from the other W statues on UW campuses and giving it a distinctly Tacoman feel. The statue will offer new students and recent grads alike the chance to celebrate and commemorate their school spirit and be a daily reminder of the university's presence in the community.

Support from the UW Tacoma community will help make this celebration of school spirit possible. With your help, the “W” can be more than a physical structure. It can be a symbol of transformation to those that are part of the UW Tacoma campus and the community at large.

Express your Husky pride with this once-in-a-lifetime project honoring UW Tacoma's 25th anniversary. You also have the chance to have your name permanently commemorated on campus.

The W will be installed this summer, so time to make your gift is limited. You only have until June 1, 2015 to be a part of this project.
