Hit the water for Tall Ships Tacoma 2008, the can't-miss event coming in July!

UW Tacoma has reserved a block of boarding passes for the Saturday, July 5 sailing of the Steamship Virginia V, the last surviving vessel from the famed "Mosquito Fleet." Built in 1922, the 125-foot Virginia V carried freight and passengers from Vashon Island to Seattle and Tacoma. Now, you and your friends and family can climb aboard and sail the sound on a three-hour voyage!

When: Saturday, July 5, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Boards from Thea's Landing, 1705 Dock St., Tacoma
Cost: $40 per person

Tall Ships Tacoma 2008 brings 32 vessels to the Foss Waterway in Tacoma from July 3-7. Experience the charm and romance of the ships along with the fun and excitement of the land-side festival that consists of three themed villages.
