At inaugural statewide HuskyHack competition, students make 24-hour sprint to fix everyday money stress

This November, the inaugural HuskyHack competition was hosted on campus by the Milgard School of Business and Sound Credit Union. Riddhi Bajaj, a UW Tacoma graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics, took home the $15,000 prize for her work to develop CardGenie, a solo project designed to help users better manage credit cards (and their respective rewards) with the help of AI.

Kula among four UW researchers named Fulbright Scholars

Michael Kula was selected to serve as Fulbright Writer-in-Residence at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. In addition to teaching courses in AMU’s Center for the Affirmation of Literature, he will be completing final research and revisions for his book, “The Long Alone,” a creative nonfiction account of the travels of Kazimierz Nowak, an amateur Polish journalist who bicycled alone across Africa in the 1930s.
