Our Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration
Tye Minckler joined the University of Washington Tacoma team as Vice Chancellor for the Division of Finance & Administration, August 1, 2017.
Tye most recently served as the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Tarleton State University, the second-largest member of the Texas A&M System. He received his EdD in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016, and has two degrees from the University of Washington: an MBA in finance, and a BS in molecular and cellular biology.
Tye has served at Tarleton State since 2012, whose student enrollments have grown an average of 7% each year for the past six years. Tye’s team has put in place new planning and management processes that have helped keep the institution’s infrastructure on track to support that growth.
Before Tarleton State, Tye was Vice President for Operations at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and prior to that he served as the Director of Facilities Development and Management for the UW School of Medicine. Previous to beginning his career in higher education, Tye was the chief financial officer for two private-sector companies in Seattle.
